Cross-border trade restrictions and requirements for international parcels

Many cross-border overseas trading e-commerce vendors often involve cross-border parcel transportation in the process of exporting and trading. Many E-commerces who do not know or are exposed to the cross-border e-commerce industry know little about some standards and details of cross-border logistics. This article will briefly introduce the restrictions and basic requirements of Chinese postal parcels, and hope to help you.

The weight of domestic parcels by China Post is limited to the following: 15 kg for general items, 10 kg for fragile or liquid items, 500 g for express mail, and 1 kg for whole parcel. At the same time, according to the principle of easy handling and preventing backwardness, the maximum and minimum size limits of each package are specified.

Unlike the requirements of domestic parcels, China Post distinguishes the direction and destination of international parcels, and the weight and size limits of international parcels vary. The Universal Postal Union has uniform provisions on postal parcels. In general, the weight of each package should not exceed 20 kilograms, the length of each side of the package should not exceed 1.5 meters, and the perimeter of each side should not exceed 3 meters. China Post implements packaging management and restrictions in accordance with the provisions of the International Union.

In addition, there are three forms of international cross-border logistics mail: air, sea and water. Delivery is based on the time required for the seller to arrive. If time is running out, it is recommended that international courier charges be high. If time requirements are wide, it is recommended to use air, land or sea packages. Logistics prices are proportional to transportation time.

China Post's requirement for international postal parcels is a hard regulation in the international logistics industry. Domestic e-commerce and cross-border business cannot be changed. They can only implement logistics according to standards, standardize packaging conditions, and avoid errors in logistics and cargo transportation.
