Recently, Armstrong & Associates partnered with Transport Topics and released "Top 50 Global Freight Forwarders List for 2024".
 
In 2024, Kuehne + Nagel still holds the top spot as the world's largest sea freight forwarder, with a total TEU volume of 4.386 million. Coming in third is Germany's DHL with a TEU volume of 3.294 million.

Following the acquisition of Apex, Kuehne + Nagel not only retained its position as the world's largest sea freight forwarder but also became the global leader in air freight forwarding with a volume of 2.23 million metric tons. DHL ranks second with an air freight volume of 1.9 million metric tons, followed by DSV with an air freight volume of 1.56 million metric tons.

Overall, the top 50 list includes companies from all major freight transportation modes. There are 2 commercial airlines, 7 freight forwarders, 8 companies that primarily provide parcel delivery services, 10 rail freight service providers, 10 third party logistics companies and 13 shipping companies. Six companies from Japan made the list, while four companies from France and Germany were included in the top 50.

 
Chinese forwarding enterprises shine on the ocean once again, with nine Chinese forwarding companies entering the top 50 global sea freight forwarders. Sinotrans ranks second globally with a TEU volume of 3.89 million, only behind the leader Kuehne + Nagel.

In the Top 50 Air Freight Forwarders list, seven Chinese forwarding companies have made the cut. Among them, four are based in mainland China, two in Hong Kong, and one in Taiwan.
